Expérience Pédagogique

Enseigne depuis plus de 30 ans en privé, à l’université (UQAM), au Cegep (Cegep Marie-Victorin, Cegep St Laurent) et en stages de musique (Old School Bluegrass Camp Ontario, stage international de musique acoustique de Virton, Belgique).

English Bio

Started 5 String Banjo playing in the 80’s after classical music training.

Also playing guitar, mandolin and other stringed insruments…

In Europe, leader of the Bluegrass Band «Gold Rush» and the instrumental Project «Badiane» until his move to Montréal in 1999.

Two albums were recorded with both bands that were touring Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Switzerland and more.

First years in Montreal were mostly in the French Music Business, touring and recording with the like of Chloé Ste Marie, Gilles Bélanger, Annick Granger, Laurence Hélie and many more

Joining the band «Notre Dame De Grass» around 2005, two recordings made in 2007 and 2013 and tour all around Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, P.E I. and Saskatchewan including

In 2019 recorded the album «Guy Donis & The Montréal Bluegrass League», each of the 14 tracks featuring a guest from the Montréal Music Scene.

Under the same name, have Launched a monthly concert and Jam series that still happens every third tuesday of the month

Nowadays, mainly busy teaching and playing locally.
